Ford Motor Company has achieved a remarkable sales performance during the first three quarters of the year, despite a decline in its best selling nameplate, the F-Series.

Despite facing challenges in its core market, Ford has managed to outperform its competitors, posting a 2.7% increase in sales compared to the same period last year.

The Ford F-Series, America’s most popular full size pickup truck, remains a significant contributor to the company’s success. However, the premium Lincoln division has also played a crucial role in driving growth, with a substantial 25.4% increase in sales.

The Corsair, Nautilus, and Aviator models have been particularly successful, contributing to the division’s strong performance. As Lincoln prepares to launch the new Navigator, the company is optimistic about further growth and a reversal of recent declines.

A recurring theme has emerged in the digital car design: the revival of the Lincoln Town Car. This iconic full-size luxury sedan reigned supreme from 1980 until 2011 but was ultimately overshadowed by the popularity of SUVs like the Lincoln Navigator.

However, digital artist Vince Burlapp (vburlapp/burlappcar.com) argues that Lincoln deserves a more sophisticated offering than a “chromed out shoebox.” Burlapp’s latest creation envisions a reborn Town Car, competitively priced against its German rivals Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

This hypothetical project reflects a desire for Lincoln to recapture its former glory as a Cadillac competitor, offering a diverse lineup that includes both luxurious sedans and forward-thinking electric vehicles.

Burlapp believes that a successful Cadillac, with its blend of traditional cars and cutting edge EVs, could push Lincoln to bring back classics like the Town Car or Continental.
