Three years after the release of Daniel Craig’s final James Bond film, “No Time to Die,” anticipation for the franchise’s future remains high. While the casting of the next 007 is still shrouded in mystery, there’s no shortage of Bond-related excitement.
Remember the special edition Triumph motorcycles featured in the film? Yes, those very bikes owned by Daniel Craig himself were recently auctioned off for a record-breaking sum. The Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200, limited to just 250 units each, fetched a combined £60,000 at Bonhams’ Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show.
While the amount may not seem astronomical compared to other luxury auctions, it sets a new record for Triumph motorcycles. And in a generous gesture, Craig has donated the entire proceeds to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), a charity dedicated to saving lives at sea.
The James Bond inspired Triumph Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition number 003 and the Triumph Tiger 900 Bond Edition number 001 were auctioned off at a recent event. The Scrambler fetched £28,000 ($36,331), while the Tiger sold for £32,000 ($41,522). Both bikes were personally signed by Daniel Craig on either side and came with a certificate of authenticity signed by both Craig and Triumph CEO Nick Bloor.
The lucky buyer(s) also received a unique riding experience in Wales, UK, curated by James Bond stunt coordinator Lee Morrison and stunt double Paul Edmondson. While information about the next James Bond film, the 26th installment in the franchise, remains scarce, the identity of the next Bond actor or actress has yet to be announced.
