Yamaha’s 2025 MT-07, the iconic naked street bike, is back and better than ever. Known for its raw power and agile handling, the fourth generation MT-07 has undergone significant upgrades to raise the riding experience.
A key highlight is the redesigned high tensile steel frame, which boasts a 13% increase in rigidity, enhancing both handling precision and accommodating the bike’s advanced technological features. To complement the frame, Yamaha has introduced an asymmetrical swingarm, a first for the MT-07, and lightweight SpinForged wheels wrapped in Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires.
The braking system has also been upgraded with dual four-piston radial-mount calipers, offering superior stopping power. The 2025 Yamaha MT-07 marks a significant evolution of the popular middleweight naked bike. While retaining the core of its twin-cylinder 690cc engine, Yamaha has introduced several key enhancements to raise the riding experience. A new acoustic amplifying system adds a distinctive sound, particularly at lower speeds and partial throttle.
The suspension has been completely overhauled, featuring 41mm inverted forks with a die-cast aluminum triple clamp and an adjustable rear shock. The ergonomics have been refined with a new seat height, handlebar position, and footpeg placement for improved comfort and control.
To further enhance the MT-07’s appeal, Yamaha has integrated advanced electronic rider aids. The YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) and YRC (Yamaha Ride Control) systems, along with the innovative Y-AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), offer a range of customizable riding modes, including power maps, traction control levels, and cruise control.
The Y-AMT also features an assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts and reduced lever effort. Visually, the 2025 MT-07 sports a completely redesigned bodywork with a narrower fuel tank, LED headlight, and new turn signals with an emergency stop signal function.
Despite the added features, Yamaha has managed to reduce the weight of the bike by 2.2 pounds. The 2025 MT-07 will be available in both standard and Y-AMT versions, with three color options.
