Porsche’s 99X Electric, the German automaker’s Formula E contender, is poised to electrify the 2024-25 season. Building upon the success of its predecessor, this upgraded race car showcases significant in-house advancements, particularly in the area of all-wheel-drive technology.

By strategically engaging the front wheels during qualifying, starts, and Attack Mode, the 99X Electric achieves blistering acceleration, propelling the car from zero to 62 mph in a mere two seconds. This technological leap, coupled with the expertise of Porsche’s road car engineers, positions the 99X Electric as a formidable force of electric racing.

As the season kicks off in Brazil on December 7th, fans eagerly anticipate the thrilling performances of the Porsche team, led by the talented duo of Antonio Felix da Costa and Pascal Wehrlein. Porsche’s 99X Electric is set to electrify the 2023 Formula E season with a host of upgrades.

These include high-performance Hankook tires, a revised front wing, and aerodynamic tweaks to the rear. Despite the performance enhancements, the strict tire allocation remains unchanged: two sets per race weekend and three for double headers.

“We’re not just building electric race cars; we’re showcasing the future of sports cars,” said Thomas Laudenbach, Porsche Motorsport vice president. “Formula E is the perfect stage to highlight our electric production models, like the Taycan Turbo GT.

The team is confident that the 99X Electric, with its striking Purple Sky Metallic and Shade Green Metallic livery, will not only look stunning but also continue Porsche’s winning streak, building on Pascal Wehrlein’s World Championship title.”
