Nissan’s Frontier TARMAC build is a striking addition to the 2024 SEMA Show lineup, crafted in collaboration with Forsberg Racing and Nissan Design America. Based on the Frontier PRO-X, this concept reinvents the traditional truck with a low-riding, track-ready profile that emphasizes performance and style.

Chris Forsberg, a renowned figure in racing, was the ideal partner for this unique build. With a history of customizing performance trucks, Forsberg saw the TARMAC as a chance to bring back a genre that’s now rarely seen: the lowered performance truck.

The TARMAC’s standout features include a water-cooled supercharger for the 3.8L V6 engine, boosting its power output to an impressive 440 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Forsberg’s team also installed a NISMO cold-air intake, a performance cat-back exhaust, and a custom NISMO brake setup. The rear is equipped with dual calipers connected to a manual handbrake for enhanced drifting capability, a design specifically crafted for track performance.

The suspension received equally intense attention, with Nissan Motorsports designing a custom high-performance street suspension for the build. This setup includes a fully adjustable coil-over system up front, while a flip kit and C-notch in the rear achieve the TARMAC’s ultra-low stance. Forsberg describes it as “slammed,” with carbon fiber enhancements like a tailgate spoiler, tonneau cover, and wide fenders, all against a bold Afterburn Orange paint job.

Inside, the TARMAC continues its high-performance theme with Recaro seats, custom upholstery, and a carbon fiber steering wheel, blending with the exterior’s striking aesthetics. A handbrake replaces the traditional foot-pedal parking brake, giving the interior a sportier touch. This meticulous, six-month build underscores Nissan’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries and celebrates the possibilities within the Frontier lineup for customization and performance.
