At the 2024 SEMA Show, Modellista—a distinguished Japanese aftermarket company under Toyota—unveiled the Overland Vision, an exciting new concept based on the Toyota Land Cruiser. Known for its skill in tuning and modifying Toyota vehicles, Modellista continues to demonstrate its expertise with this latest reveal.
This concept marks a bold new direction for Modellista, pushing the boundaries of overlanding and off-road customization to an extreme level. The vehicle was showcased at the Toyota booth, where it turned heads with its unique and aggressive design.
The Overland Vision Concept is a heavily modified Land Cruiser designed for the ultimate off-roading experience, focusing on what Modellista believes are the latest trends in off-road customization, particularly for the U.S. market.
While Modellista’s products are not currently available in North America, the Overland Vision Concept could pave the way for future U.S. offerings, depending on its reception at SEMA. If the response is positive, Modellista plans to integrate the design elements seen in this concept into its future U.S. product lineup.
The concept Land Cruiser is a beast of an off-roader, equipped with modifications that enable it to conquer terrains where standard Land Cruisers might struggle. Key enhancements include armored components to protect the vehicle from obstacles, skid plates for underbody protection, a slight lift kit for added ground clearance, and more aggressive off-road tires. These modifications are designed to make the Overland Vision an unstoppable force in extreme overlanding conditions.
However, Modellista has been careful to maintain the Land Cruiser’s classic design while incorporating these rugged enhancements. The concept vehicle features more aggressive front and rear bumpers that accentuate the Land Cruiser’s bold and retro look, as well as upgraded LED lighting for a more modern yet iconic appearance. Additionally, the Overland Vision Concept includes robust side-carrying containers for extra gear and a rear-mounted ladder, making it easy to access the roof-mounted tent.
Modellista’s goal with the Overland Vision Concept is to explore the potential of its brand in the U.S., and its future success will hinge on how well it is received by attendees at SEMA. If the concept generates enough interest, we may see a new wave of overlanding rigs and off-road vehicles coming from Toyota Motor North America in the future, offering American consumers the chance to experience these high-performance off-road machines.
