An Alabama widow has received a remarkable offer for several classic cars from her late husband’s extensive collection.
Her husband had a deep passion for collecting, which extended beyond classic cars to include trucks, bulldozers, and motorcycles.
However, his wife, Robin Wiggins, did not share the same enthusiasm for the hobby.
When he passed away, Robin found herself in possession of a collection she wasn’t sure how to manage.
Widow Sells Her Late Husband’s Classic Cars
Several of the vehicles were purchased by the team at Gas Monkey Garage, who documented the transaction on their YouTube channel.
Robin shared that she and her husband used to enjoy watching Gas Monkey Garage videos together.
Interestingly, Robin’s late husband was a retired police officer, just like Richard Rawlings, the host of Gas Monkey Garage.
After introductions, the team entered the garage, where they came across a 1955 Chevy. This car held particular sentimental value as her husband had owned it since he was just 17 years old.
Despite its age, the car appeared to be in relatively good condition.
A Generous Offer for the Car Collection
The collection contained several noteworthy vehicles, including a 1984 Corvette that had been stored on a car lift.
Other highlights included a few Chevrolet models from the 1940s and a 1984 Goldwing motorcycle.
The garage also housed a Nissan Fairlady 280Z, which originally belonged to a family friend. Richard successfully negotiated its inclusion in the purchase deal.
Ultimately, Richard Rawlings purchased five classic cars from Robin’s late husband’s collection.
For the vehicles, he offered her a generous $45,000.
It is hoped that these cherished cars will be restored to their former glory and eventually find owners who will appreciate and care for them as much as her husband did.
