Manthey Racing has introduced a performance kit designed to enhance the track capabilities of the already formidable Porsche 911 GT3 RS. With extensive expertise in modifying Porsche vehicles, Manthey has collaborated with Porsche’s development team to create what promises to be their most advanced version of the GT3 RS yet. This kit reflects the shared expertise of Porsche and Manthey engineers, combining cutting-edge technology with decades of motorsport experience to refine the car’s design and performance.
Priced at £99,999, the Manthey Kit adds substantial costs to the GT3 RS’s base price of £192,600 but offers extensive upgrades. The modifications aim to improve the car’s position in the Nürburgring lap time rankings. Despite delays due to weather conditions, Manthey Racing is confident in the enhancements, which have been tested extensively on European circuits. Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing, has highlighted the potential for significantly improved lap times once conditions allow for official testing on the Nordschleife.
Aerodynamic upgrades play a central role in the kit. The addition of a redesigned spoiler lip, carbon-fiber components, and a lighter rear panel replaces the standard rear window to reduce weight. Borrowing elements from the 963 race car, the rear wing incorporates a Formula One-inspired drag reduction system (DRS). Other features include a widened rear diffuser, aero wheel covers to reduce drag, and roof fins designed to optimize cooling and airflow. These changes combine to deliver over a tonne of downforce at speeds of up to 177mph.
The suspension system has been recalibrated to handle the added downforce, incorporating semi-active coilovers and revised spring rates that are 30% stiffer in the front and 15% in the rear. Enhanced shock absorbers and wheel-acceleration sensors improve damper performance, contributing to greater handling precision. Braking has also been refined with racing pads and steel-sheathed brake lines, offering better pedal responsiveness and consistency during high-performance driving.
In addition to its technical improvements, the kit includes visual enhancements such as illuminated carbon-fiber sill guards, custom branding, and optional decals. The GT3 RS’s 4.0-liter flat-six engine, however, remains unchanged, producing 518bhp and 465Nm of torque. While the added downforce reduces the car’s top speed slightly to 177mph, the Manthey-modified GT3 RS is built to dominate on the track with exceptional control, braking, and aerodynamic efficiency.
