Korean automaker KGM (formerly SsangYong) is preparing to release new production models in 2025, emphasizing durability and robust architecture under its new “powered by toughness” identity. The first of these is the all-electric 0100 truck, set to arrive in the UK next year. Aimed at urban drivers, the 0100 will compete with the Maxus T90 EV and forthcoming electric versions of the Isuzu D-Max and Ford Ranger, positioning KGM as a strong contender in the electric pick-up segment.
The 0100 truck represents KGM’s fresh exterior design language, featuring a segmented front lightbar, rugged body cladding, faux winch hooks, roof bars, and sturdy rear pillar handles. The “Torres” branding on the rear ties it to KGM’s electric SUV, the Torres EVX, which shares its platform. These design elements suggest a focus on functionality and durability for urban and off-road scenarios alike, blending practical features with a modern aesthetic.
Underneath, the 0100 houses an 80kWh LFP battery supplied by BYD, enabling a range of over 300 miles. It also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, allowing users to power tools or appliances from the vehicle. This makes it a versatile option for work and recreation. The battery’s larger capacity compared to the 73kWh Torres EVX battery, which offers 287 miles of range, reflects KGM’s commitment to enhancing performance in its electric vehicle lineup.
KGM is also reviving its SUV heritage with the KR10, a model inspired by the classic second-generation Korando. This new design features off-road-focused elements like prominent wheelarch cladding, a boxy profile, round LED headlights, and a five-slat grille. With traditional styling cues paired with modern technology, the KR10 is expected to adopt a version of the Torres EVX’s battery and drivetrain, further solidifying KGM’s presence in the electric SUV market.
Adding to its lineup, KGM has developed the F100 concept, which embodies a bold and avant-garde design. This vehicle appears to be positioned as a competitor to the upcoming Kia EV5 and Jeep Recon. Despite its unconventional and less aerodynamic shape, the F100 is expected to deliver a competitive range thanks to its BYD battery system. The F100 concept highlights KGM’s innovative approach to creating distinct, off-road-focused electric vehicles for adventurous drivers.
