Even Toyota understands there’s nothing wrong with borrowing a brilliant idea, especially when it’s Tesla’s.
When the 2026 bZ arrives at dealerships later this month, it will allow drivers to tap into Tesla’s Supercharger network, offering Plug & Charge technology, extended range, and enhanced connectivity aimed at making EV ownership easier, smarter, and more intuitive.
The 2026 Toyota bZ marks a major leap forward for EV drivers by expanding access to more than 25,000 DC fast-charging plugs through the Tesla Supercharger Network.
This new addition complements existing partnerships with IONNA, ChargePoint, and EVgo, giving Toyota’s latest BEV a strong edge in public charging convenience.
Through the Toyota app, drivers can easily locate compatible chargers, including those equipped with the new North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug.
Charging is now more streamlined than ever with the Plug & Charge feature. After registering through the Toyota app, drivers can simply plug in to start charging automatically, no cards, apps, or extra steps required.
The Tesla Supercharger Network will be the first to support this feature for Toyota BEVs, while IONNA and EVgo will follow in the near future.
Electric vehicles operate within an entirely different zone compared to gas or hybrid cars, involving unique networks, software, and range considerations.

Toyota is leaning into this evolution by offering more than just a vehicle, it’s delivering an ownership experience built on connectivity, convenience, and reliability, treating these as vital as the battery beneath the car.
Every 2026 Toyota BEV will include adapters ensuring compatibility with older SAE J1772 and CCS charging stations, providing maximum flexibility for drivers.
Starting in November, owners of 2023–2025 Toyota bZ4X models can also receive a complimentary NACS charging adapter from dealerships, unlocking access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.
As with all Toyota Genuine Accessories, these adapters are engineered to meet the brand’s rigorous standards for durability and safety and come backed by full warranty coverage.
This initiative reinforces Toyota’s dedication not just to new EV customers but also to early adopters who invested in the first generation of bZ vehicles.
To further enhance the ecosystem, Toyota has integrated Apple Maps EV Routing through Apple CarPlay for all 2023 and newer BEVs. The feature combines live battery data, elevation changes, and charging station availability to help drivers plan efficient and stress-free trips.
With expanded charging access, smarter technology, and a focus on practicality, the 2026 Toyota bZ demonstrates that Toyota’s EV vision isn’t about flashy gimmicks, it’s about tackling real-world challenges, one charge at a time.
