Renault has introduced the Filante, a new E-segment hybrid crossover set to be rolled out across South Korea, Latin America, and the Gulf States.
Renault has officially revealed the Filante, an E-segment hybrid crossover positioned as the brand’s international flagship under its 2027 International Game Plan, which focuses on growth in markets beyond Europe.
The model will be produced at Renault Korea’s manufacturing facility in Busan and will be powered by the company’s E-Tech 250 full hybrid powertrain, delivering 250 ps. The system has been developed on the CMA platform in cooperation with Alliance partners.
Sales of the Filante will begin in South Korea in March 2026, before expanding to selected Latin American markets, including Colombia, Chile, and Uruguay. The rollout will then continue into the Gulf States in early 2027.

According to Renault, the model is aimed squarely at the E segment, which currently accounts for 26.2% of the South Korean market. The Filante becomes part of a broader international portfolio that includes the Kardian, Duster, Boreal, and Koleos, supporting Renault’s plan to introduce eight new vehicles outside Europe between 2024 and 2027.
The Filante also marks the debut of three new driver assistance features within Renault’s lineup: emergency steering assist, a smart rearview mirror, and child presence detection. Inside, the cabin adopts a lounge-inspired layout, complemented by configurable ambient lighting.
Its name draws inspiration from the Étoile Filante prototype, which achieved multiple world speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in 1956, as well as the Filante Record electric concept car revealed in 2025.
Commenting on the launch, Fabrice Cambolive, Chief Growth Officer at Renault Group and Chief Executive of the Renault brand, said: “Filante perfectly illustrates our approach, combining Renault’s French DNA, emotional design, humanised technology and best in class electrified technology, with Korean excellence to meet local customer expectations.”
