A fresh breeze of updates is blowing through Audi’s E-Tron GT, which is evident from a recently spotted prototype signaling an impending facelift for the electric performance sedan. Developed by Audi Sport and closely linked to the Porsche Taycan, the E-Tron GT shares the EV platform internally known as the J1.
With the Taycan receiving updates like increased range, enhanced performance, and quicker charging, it’s expected that the refreshed E-Tron GT will follow suit. Following the Taycan’s debut as a 2025 model in the U.S., Audi is likely to reveal the updated E-Tron GT soon, as hinted by the commencement of a teaser campaign.
Observing the prototypes, we anticipate revisions to both the front and rear fascias, potentially including tweaks to the lighting elements. The new front fascia design is poised to visually widen the car, while the rear may feature an updated diffuser design. Inside, updates are expected, particularly focused on the infotainment system.
Additionally, Audi is likely to introduce Volkswagen Group’s latest matrix LED headlight technology, renowned for its enhanced brightness and reduced glare, as seen in the 2024 Porsche Cayenne. On the mechanical front, Audi has confirmed enhancements to the suspension system, likely incorporating dual-valve dampers akin to those introduced in the Taycan update.
These dampers offer adjustable rebound and compression, broadening the performance spectrum for both comfort and handling. The battery capacity is anticipated to increase from 93 to 105 kWh, mirroring the Taycan’s upgrade, thus delivering extended range and faster charging speeds. Considering the Taycan’s improvements, the E-Tron GT’s maximum charging rate is expected to rise to 320 kW, up from the current 270 kW.
Moreover, horsepower is slated for a substantial boost, with rumors hinting at the introduction of an RS Performance E-Tron GT flagship variant, potentially rivaling the Taycan Turbo S with a peak output nearing 938 hp. Currently, the RS E-Tron GT boasts 637 hp with boost mode, while the regular E-Tron GT peaks at 522 hp with boost mode.
