Do you remember the Bentley Batur from a few years ago? Well, it’s back, but this time it doesn’t have a roof. Say hello to the Bentley Batur Convertible.

It’s quite similar to the coupe version. It has a stronger twin-turbo W12 engine and is built by Bentley’s Mulliner division. Unlike the Continental GTC, which can fit four people, the Batur Convertible only has two seats. Instead of back seats, there’s a beautiful “airbridge” behind the front seats. It’s meant to remind people of classic sports cars without roofs. If you look under the airbridge and the tapered cowls, you’ll see there’s some space for luggage, along with the trunk.

The W12 engine under its long hood is more powerful than most Bentley W12 cars. It has some upgrades like a revised intake, better turbochargers, new intercoolers, a titanium exhaust, and a unique engine tune. All this brings the power up to 740 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.

The car we’re looking at here is a special engineering development vehicle and won’t be one of the 16 Bentley plans to make. Bentley says there are endless ways to customize it. This one is orange, finished in Vermillion Gloss over Vermillion Satin Duo. It has Bentley’s ombre effect front grille that goes from dark to bright as it reaches the edges. It also has carbon fiber front splitters, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. And don’t forget those awesome 22-inch wheels with Vermillion accents.

Inside, you can customize pretty much everything. The design is inspired by the Bacalar’s wraparound interior. The soft top can be operated electronically and goes down in just 19 seconds at speeds of up to 30 mph. Bentley says you can choose the colors and finishes for almost every surface inside. They even use 3D-printed rose gold for some buttons and controls. This gold comes from a special place in England.

Bentley didn’t say if all the Batur Convertibles are sold yet, but since there are only 16 available, they might be. It will take “several months” to build each car, and Bentley thinks these might be some of the last cars they make with a W12 engine.
