Elemental Custom Cycles (ECC), situated in Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany, was established in 2017 by Thomas Lambert, embodying a philosophy that rejects mundane designs in favor of bespoke creations. This ethos guides ECC’s custom projects, exemplified by Project 4, a BMW cafe racer.
Project 4 commenced when a client named Andi approached ECC with a vision for a custom airhead build, culminating in the selection of a BMW R 80 as the donor vehicle. The R 80 Monolever, renowned for its robust boxer-twin engine, served as an ideal platform for customization, boasting reliability and retro charm.
ECC’s transformation of the R 80 into Project 4 involved extensive modifications, including complete disassembly, fabrication of a new rear frame tubing, repositioning of the fuel tank, and installation of modern suspension components like an adjustable shock absorber.
The front end received upgrades such as bespoke triple clamps, Wilbers internals, and Brembo brake discs for improved performance.
Additionally, the cockpit features clip-on handlebars, a digital Motogadget dial, and aftermarket accessories like grips and bar-end turn signals. Customizations extend to the wheels, which were replaced with laced 17-inch units wrapped in Continental tires.
Completing the build is a bespoke stainless-steel exhaust system and a distinctive color scheme blending dark grey with turquoise accents.
