Honda continues its trend of maintaining existing models for 2024, including the CB1000R, which remains unchanged from the previous year. Available in the Black Edition trim, it starts at $12,999 and is now available at Honda dealerships nationwide.
Unlike some other models that see price increases, the CB1000R retains its 2023 MSRP, which is a positive aspect. Having previously experienced the bike’s setup with the introduction of the “Black Edition” in 2021.
The CB1000R performs admirably on the street, boasting a potent midrange, a bidirectional quick-shifter, an agile chassis, and a satisfactory TFT display panel. While the braking feel could be improved, the bike offers ample power to bring its 472-pound weight to a halt effortlessly.
The Black Edition update also enhances the bike’s aesthetics, resulting in a sleeker and more sophisticated appearance. Additional features include ride-by-wire, selectable ride modes and torque control, visually appealing LED lighting, and a commendable Showa suspension setup.
The last significant update to the CB1000R occurred in 2018, enhancing its specifications with a lighter chassis, improved engine performance, and a more ergonomic cockpit. Despite the lack of recent updates, the CB1000R remains a competitive option in the liter-size naked bike segment.
