Brooklyn-based Tarform has been making waves in the motorcycle market with its Luna e-motorcycle for a couple of years. Now, the company returns with an offering that surpasses its previous standards: meet Vera.
Tarform’s name has become synonymous with innovation in North America’s motorcycle scene, courtesy of Luna’s stellar performance and futuristic design. However, the Luna’s hefty price tag starting at $28,000 remained a barrier for many enthusiasts. Enter Vera.
According to Tarform founder Taras Kravtchouk, Vera represents an electric motorcycle tailored for higher production volumes, aligning with the brand’s vision of becoming a leader in premium EV mobility. Priced at a starting point of $16,000 (€14,700 at current exchange rates), Vera aims to cater to a broader audience without compromising on performance or style.
A glance at Vera’s design reveals a departure from Luna’s aesthetics, opting for a more rugged yet modern look. The aluminum framework, reminiscent of off-road motorcycles, underscores Vera’s versatility, designed to traverse urban streets or venture off the beaten path.
Despite its rugged exterior, Vera exudes a retro scrambler vibe, blending different design elements seamlessly to create a multi-purpose machine. Equipped with top-tier components such as Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension, Vera maintains Tarform’s commitment to quality and performance.
Powering Vera is a mid-mounted 35 kW (47 hp) electric motor, delivering a peak torque of 160 Nm (119 lb-ft). With an optional upgrade offering 55 kW (74 hp) of power, Vera promises exhilarating acceleration reaching 0-60 mph (0-97 kph) in 3.5 seconds coupled with a top speed exceeding 85 mph (137 kph).
Tarform’s dedication to sustainability is evident in Vera’s construction, featuring eco-friendly materials like recycled tea leaves for seat upholstery and bioplastics for bodywork. Coupled with a rapid-charging 8kWh battery pack, Vera embodies modernity and eco-consciousness in a sleek, electric package.
With six years of R&D behind Tarform, Vera represents the brand’s evolution in the electric motorcycle industry. Preorders are now open, with deliveries slated to begin in early 2025, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to embrace the future of mobility with Vera.
