Angry Lane, based in Hong Kong, is renowned for crafting exceptional custom motorcycles, blending artistry and engineering prowess. Founded by Guillaume and Ben Barras, who inherited their talents from their parents, the company consistently delivers remarkable creations.
One of their notable projects, the GT540 Grey Power Cafe, transforms a 1999 Yamaha SR500 into a stunning piece of craftsmanship. Starting with a stock Yamaha SR500, Angry Lane stripped away the factory bodywork, along with components like the exhaust system and cockpit equipment.
They then started on a series of performance upgrades, enhancing the single-cylinder engine’s output to 540cc with a 10:1 compression ratio. Race-spec Kibblewhite valve springs, an aftermarket camshaft, and premium breathing equipment were installed to boost performance.
The chassis received upgrades, including Wilbers internals for the forks, YSS shock absorbers, and a lighter swingarm. Brembo brakes and alloy wheels from an older SR500, coated in ceramic and wrapped in Bridgestone tires, complete the dynamic package. The bodywork features an Omega Racer fuel tank, a bespoke aluminum tail unit with LED lighting, and a sleek front fairing.
The cockpit boasts premium components like Motogadget instrumentation, clip-on handlebars, and CNC-machined foot pegs, providing a sporty yet comfortable riding experience. Finished in a glossy grey with black accents, and adorned with subtle touches of red, the GT540 Grey Power Cafe exemplifies Angry Lane’s dedication to crafting exceptional custom motorcycles.
