The 2024 Husqvarna FC450 Rockstar Edition stands out as one of the most visually striking bikes in the current Husqvarna lineup, if not in the broader market.
Over the past couple of weeks, our test rider Jared Hicks has been putting it through its paces, and it’s safe to say he’s been thoroughly impressed. This model essentially mirrors the KTM 450SX-F Factory Edition we reviewed last month, boasting the same standout features.
One notable enhancement is the frame, which exhibits a touch less rigidity compared to its predecessors. Traditional Austrian bikes within the KTM-Husqvarna-GasGas conglomerate have faced criticism for their initial stiffness, although this tends to alleviate over time as the steel frames “break in.”
The 2024 Rockstar Edition arrives pre-broken-in, offering a more comfortable feel right from the start. In our initial testing, we’ve observed improved rear suspension feedback, particularly noticeable through the footpegs. This upgrade doesn’t significantly affect the front end.
Priced at $12,599, the 2024 Husqvarna Rockstar Edition boasts a range of impressive features, including updated bodywork, tweaked suspension settings, and eye-catching Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing graphics.
Other highlights include the FMF Racing Factory 4.1 silencer, Factory Racing CNC-machined triple clamps with adjustable offset, and a Factory Racing wheel set with black anodized CNC machined hubs.
The bike also comes equipped with a range of performance-enhancing components such as a carbon composite skid plate, front brake disc guard, holeshot device, and soft, gray ODI lock-on grips.
The inclusion of the Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) with GPS and Lit-Pro, albeit with an additional subscription fee, allows riders to fine-tune various engine parameters via the Husqvarna Motorcycle App on their smartphone.
In terms of performance, the 2024 FC450 Rockstar Edition delivers a crisp and well-dialed experience typical of the FC450 range. The full-travel suspension offers a slight deviation from the standard model, favoring a taller stance preferred by some riders.
The motor, complemented by the FMF exhaust, feels notably snappier, maintaining the FC450’s reputation for ample power delivery and user-friendliness.
Despite its premium price tag, the 2024 Husqvarna FC450 Rockstar Edition offers a compelling package for enthusiasts seeking top-tier performance and aesthetics. For a comprehensive review, keep an eye out for the June 2024 print edition of Dirt Bike.
In other news, the 2024 Fasthouse Two-Stroke Championship may have been postponed, but we had the opportunity to spend time with defending champion Carson Brown and his Yamaha/BRC 500. It’s always a pleasure to witness such remarkable talent in action.
