Since its establishment in 2009, Thor Cycles of Spain has cultivated a reputation for crafting exceptional custom motorcycles. Among their portfolio of bespoke projects stands a remarkable build that showcases their unparalleled craftsmanship.

Based on a 1999 Ducati 900SS, this masterpiece boasts an air-cooled L-twin powerplant with a displacement of 904cc, delivering 80 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 57 pound-feet of torque. Equipped with a six-speed transmission and a chain final drive, the Ducati can achieve a top speed of 143 mph and complete the quarter-mile sprint in just 11.4 seconds.

Thor Cycles started on this project by fabricating a custom subframe to accommodate a cafe racer tail unit and an aftermarket saddle. The black leather upholstery, accented with red stitching, adds a touch of elegance to the motorcycle’s rear end. A handmade aluminum license plate holder and multi-function LEDs enhance both functionality and aesthetics.

The L-twin powerplant underwent a comprehensive rebuild featuring new bearings, K&N air filters, and an upgraded clutch mechanism. While retaining the OEM headers, Thor Cycles installed aftermarket silencers to enhance exhaust notes and performance.

The Ducati’s standard three-spoke wheels were replaced with laced wheels from a Ducati GT1000, fitted with premium Brembo brakes for superior stopping power. A Ducati Monster headlight and Tomaselli clip-ons further raise the bike’s cafe racer styling.

Despite the extensive modifications, the Ducati 900SS retains its legendary performance and agility, offering a thrilling riding experience. This collaborative effort between Thor Cycles and its client exemplifies the fusion of artistry and engineering within the area of
custom motorcycles.
