Axel Budde, the mastermind behind Kaffeemaschine Motorcycles in Hamburg, Germany, is renowned for his unmistakable custom cafe racers built on Moto Guzzi motorcycles.
This particular build, however, takes a slightly different direction. While still rooted in the cafe racer aesthetic, Axel has prioritized long-distance comfort, creating a machine that’s as thrilling to ride as it is practical for extended journeys.
Built entirely in-house, the project started with a 1980 Moto Guzzi Le Mans II. Disassembled and meticulously transformed, the bike sheds its stock components for a custom subframe and a revamped suspension system.
New wheels with stainless-steel spokes and grippy Bridgestone tires are matched with upgraded brakes featuring drilled discs, Brembo master cylinders, and braided lines, ensuring ample stopping power to complement the spirited performance.
This custom masterpiece blends elegance with power. Top-shelf suspension and a steering damper keep handling tight, while a lightweight carbon fiber body stuns visually.
Functionality meets form with a custom fuel tank, integrated luggage rack, and sleek LED taillight. Comfort reigns with a luxurious seat and a modern instrument cluster.
But the heart lies in the engine a boosted 1,000cc beast pushing 85 horsepower. This Le Mans II exemplifies Kaffeemaschine’s magic touch: a classic reborn as a modern marvel.
