Recast Moto, the brainchild of Vadim Mulyarov, emerged from the Belarusian city of Minsk in 2014. This custom bike shop, now based in Warsaw, Poland, is a rising star in the European scene.
Their latest creation, a futuristic masterpiece, exemplifies their underdog status. Conceived in 2017 and realized in 2022, this bike initially aimed to be based on a popular BMW R nineT. Budget limitations, however, steered the team towards a 2006 R 1200 ST. Stripping the donor bike down to its essentials, they crafted a bespoke cantilever subframe to accommodate the ambitious bodywork.
This aluminum masterpiece envelops the frame, creating a visually stunning and cohesive design. From the back, a sharp tail section ends in a sculpted LED taillight, a dazzling centerpiece in its own right. A handcrafted gold-leather saddle sits atop it, perfectly complementing the bike’s theme.
The design flows flawlessly forward, with the tail seamlessly merging into the fuel tank. Bespoke side panels hug the tank flawlessly, and a substantial belly pan completes the lower section. Further back, another set of side covers flanks the shock absorber.
Up front, a new fender and fork cover combo join forces with a sleek nose fairing positioned above a bright LED headlight. A swingarm-mounted bracket holds the license plate and a small rear fender.
The rider interacts with the machine through a digital aftermarket dash and a new handlebar with stylish bar-end mirrors tucked underneath. Recast Moto left the boxer-twin engine untouched internally, but they did modify the airbox to accommodate custom intakes.
The exhaust system is mostly hidden by the belly pan, with only the silencers’ tips peeking out near the footpegs. Tying the entire project together is a stunning white and gold color scheme, an ideal match for this reborn R 1200 ST’s elegant character.
