Asen Zahariev, the Bulgarian custom bike maestro known as Tossa R, has once again demonstrated his exceptional skill with a breathtaking transformation of a Yamaha TR1. Renowned for his ability to create motorcycles that are as visually stunning as they are functionally superior, Zahariev started on a complete overhaul of the TR1, stripping it down to its bare essentials before reimagining its form and function.
The front end of the bike underwent a radical metamorphosis, with the stock components being discarded in favor of a high-performance setup sourced from an MV Agusta Brutale. Premium inverted forks and powerful Brembo brakes now grace the front, dramatically enhancing the bike’s handling and stopping power.
Zahariev’s ingenuity is equally evident in the rear, where custom-crafted lenticular wheel covers and a top-tier YSS shock absorber not only contribute to the bike’s aggressive appearance but also optimize its ride quality. The stock subframe has been replaced with a minimalist custom-built unit, supporting a sleek two-piece seat and integrating an LED taillight.
The result is a TR1 that is not only a testament to Zahariev’s unparalleled craftsmanship but also a high-performance machine that commands attention on the open road. The bike’s low-slung stance is immediately apparent, thanks in part to a swingarm-mounted license plate bracket and subtly integrated LED turn signals nestled within the frame.
The only remnant of the original bodywork, the fuel tank, has been dramatically reshaped to create a sleek and streamlined profile. The cockpit is a study in simplicity, featuring clip-on handlebars adorned with bar-end turn signals and a single, left-mounted mirror.
A digital Motogadget instrument cluster provides essential information without cluttering the space. The front end is equally clean, with a custom-mounted aftermarket LED headlight cutting through the night. Beneath the surface, a meticulously rewired electrical system, managed by the Moto gadget’s Bluetooth-enabled controller, ensures modern functionality.
The heart of the build lies in the refurbished V-twin engine, now breathing through a pair of Mikuni carburetors and modern air filters. The exhaust note is as fascinating as the bike’s appearance, thanks to a handcrafted stainless-steel system finished in a luxurious gold hue.
To break free from the dominance of black in the color scheme, the rear section of the fuel tank is adorned with a subtle blend of pale gold and a striking red stripe, adding a touch of visual intrigue.
