Black Cycles, the Australian maestros of motorcycle metamorphosis, have once again conjured a breathtaking custom creation. At the helm of this Brisbane-based studio is Noel Muller, whose visionary approach has transformed countless dreams into reality.
This particular project, commissioned by Simon in 2022, began life as a 1998 Ducati Monster 600. Undergoing a radical transformation, the bike retained only its trellis frame, suspension, and brakes.
The heart of the matter, the engine, was entirely swapped out. Before the transplant, the team meticulously modified the frame to accommodate a Redmax body kit provided by the client. The kit’s cafe racer tail unit also received Black Cycles’ signature touch.
A sleek, retro-styled fuel tank from Redmax complements the tail, creating an uninterrupted, flowing line. The tank is adorned with a Monza filler cap and a stylish leather strap. Carman’s Auto Trimmers crafted the custom black leather seat, while a minimalist front mudguard shields the bike from road debris.
The rear eschews a fender altogether, opting instead for a bespoke tail tidy that houses integrated LED lights for braking and signaling. Black Cycles’ custom creation boasts a striking aesthetic and potent performance. Dominating the cockpit, a seven-inch LED headlight, mounted on custom brackets, sits proudly above a Motogadget Motoscope Mini digital dial.
Clip-on handlebars, adorned with aftermarket grips and glassless bar-end mirrors, complete with Motogadget switchgear, enhance control. The motorcycle rolls on five-spoke Marchesini wheels, previously gracing another Monster, wrapped in grippy Pirelli Angel GT tires.
Braking is upgraded with HEL braided lines and premium master cylinders. The heart of this beast is a Monster 900 L-twin engine, meticulously rebuilt and paired with a handmade stainless-steel exhaust. A fascinating black and gold livery by Justin Holmes of PopBang Classics crowns this one-off masterpiece.
