Kengo Kimura, the mastermind behind Heiwa Motorcycle, has a unique and unmistakable style that sets his creations apart. His extensive build archive is a testament to his ability to deliver fresh and innovative designs consistently. One such masterpiece is the Yamaha SR400 bobber-cafe racer hybrid showcased here.

Kimura’s approach to this build was a blend of minimalism and customization. He stripped the SR400 down to its essentials and then proceeded to reimagine its frame. The rear subframe was significantly shortened and modified to accommodate new shock mounts. A sleek black leather saddle and a handmade electronics box were integrated into the redesigned frame.

The rear end was further refined with a custom mudguard, aftermarket LED turn signals, and a swingarm mounted license plate bracket. Modern adjustable shock absorbers replaced the factory rear suspension, while the front forks were refurbished and lowered for a more aggressive stance. The bike rides on 18 inch rims laced with stainless-steel spokes and wrapped in classic style tires.

The custom motorcycle’s bodywork is a standout feature, featuring a unique, in house built fuel tank. The absence of a front fender and the symmetrical placement of the front and rear turn signals create a streamlined look. A Bates-style headlight completes the front end illumination, while the cockpit area boasts a minimalist aesthetic with a compact speedometer and a custom bent handlebar.

The engine, a single cylinder unit, was in good condition and received a thorough cleaning and a performance upgrade. A pod filter and a custom exhaust system enhance airflow and power output. The bike’s color scheme is a blend of light blue on the fuel tank and fender, black on the wheels, frame, and swingarm, and polished metal accents.
