KickMoto’s seventh fully fledged project, a custom scrambler built on a 2018 KTM 690 Duke, showcases the Halifax based duo’s impressive skills. Despite not being a full time endeavor, Jeff Shaw and Jordan have consistently delivered exceptional custom motorcycles.
This particular build, Jeff’s personal ride, is a testament to their ability to create versatile machines that can handle both city streets and off-road adventures. Stripped of its stock bodywork and subframe, the KTM 690 Duke underwent a complete transformation.
A bespoke subframe, handmade battery box, and revised airbox were fabricated to accommodate the custom design. The rear section of the subframe integrates an LED lighting strip, while a small luggage rack and additional mounting points offer practical storage solutions.
The front end features a stunning, one off fuel tank crafted from scratch, a feat that surprised even Jeff himself. The tank is adorned with KickMoto badges and a CNC machined Motone filler cap. A custom seat upholstered in black vinyl and synthetic suede completes the minimalist yet stylish look.
The KTM Duke 390, a popular choice among motorcycle enthusiasts, has received a stunning makeover by KickMoto. The bike’s front end now boasts bespoke fork guards and a high-mounted fender, while fresh side covers flank the saddle to complete the bodywork. A Koso Thunderbolt headlight ensures visibility in low light conditions, and Motogadget turn signals provide added safety.
The cockpit area has been simplified with a low profile handlebar and minimal instrumentation. The stock brakes, suspension, and wheels have been retained, but the latter now feature dual-purpose tires for improved traction on various surfaces. The only major change to the engine is a revised exhaust system.
The bike originally had an Akrapovic exhaust, but KickMoto opted for a custom stainless-steel setup that better complements the aesthetic. The forks guards and fuel tank are finished in beige, while the rest of the bike is predominantly black.
