Indonesian custom shops are renowned for their creativity and ability to transform motorcycles. Studio Motor, under the leadership of Donny Ariyanto, is a prime example. Their works are testaments to their exceptional craftsmanship, like the stunning bobber they’ve dubbed “The Skinny.”
This machine started life as a humble 1980 Yamaha XS650, but after Studio Motor’s magic touch, calling it an XS650 would be a disservice. The only remaining stock component is the parallel-twin engine. Everything else is either a brand new, custom-made part or sourced from top-shelf aftermarket suppliers.
The custom motorcycle scene is a breeding ground for creativity and innovation, and this stunning custom build is a testament to that. This machine, built on an unsprung territory, is a blend of classic and modern aesthetics, with a focus on minimalist design and performance.
The bike sports a compact fuel tank crafted from aluminum, a bobber-style seat, and a vintage inspired headlight and taillight. The engine has been meticulously refurbished and fitted with premium aftermarket air filters and a custom stainless steel exhaust.
The bike’s stopping power is enhanced by drilled brake discs and fresh calipers, while the ride is smoothed out by dual-purpose Shinko tires wrapped around 19-inch aftermarket rims. The look is completed with a striking paint job and polished metal accents, making this custom motorcycle a true work of art.
