Triumph’s modern classics, with their blend of reliability, aesthetics, and performance, provide an excellent foundation for customization. A&J Cycles, a New York-based workshop, has a penchant for these bikes, and their latest build is a testament to their expertise.
Taking a 2017 Thruxton R as their canvas, they stripped it down to its essentials and reimagined it with a minimalist approach. The rear end was completely overhauled with a custom looped subframe, a sleek LED taillight, and a comfortable bench seat.
Ohlins shocks raised the rear, providing both style and performance. The absence of a traditional rear fender is compensated by a metal plate, adding a touch of industrial elegance.
The Triumph Bonneville T120, a classic motorcycle renowned for its timeless design and smooth parallel-twin engine, has been reimagined by A&J Cycles into a sleek and modern custom build. The bike retains its original fuel tank and factory forks, providing a familiar foundation for the transformation.
A&J Cycles has added a range of high quality components to enhance both the bike’s performance and aesthetics. The front end features a Meyerbuilt Metalworks fender, Ohlins steering damper, and Brembo brake calipers.
The wheels are laced Kineo units wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires, while the lighting setup includes a Motodemic LED headlight, Kellermann turn signals, and a Motogadget ChronoClassic instrument cluster.
The cockpit is further refined with Woodcraft clip-on handlebars, leather grips, bar end mirrors, and Sato rearsets. Under the hood, the engine remains stock, but it benefits from Motone finned cases, high performance pod filters, and a custom dual exhaust system by BAAK Motocyclettes.
The bike’s appearance is completed with a muted color scheme and red leather accents on the grips and saddle. This tasteful customization results in a motorcycle that is both stylish and functional, perfect for everyday riding.
