BMW is making a new version of the M4 called the 2025 M4 CS. It’s meant to be even more exciting than the current M4 Competition. Just like the BMW M3 CS from last year, this new M4 CS has more power, a better chassis, and is lighter. This makes it faster and more fun to drive than the other cars in the M4 lineup.
The M4 CS has 543 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. That’s 20 more horsepower than the M4 Competition, but the torque stays the same. It also uses the same 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and standard xDrive all-wheel-drive as the regular M4 Competition. BMW made the engine more powerful by upgrading the turbochargers and increasing the maximum boost pressure.
BMW says the M4 CS can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than the normal M4 Competition. It also set a lap time of 7:21.99 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, which is about 7 seconds faster than the M4 Competition. The top speed is electronically limited to 199 mph, which is 19 mph faster than the M4 Competition.
Even though the M4 CS has all-wheel drive, you can still switch it to rear-wheel drive if you want. The car is designed to be rear-wheel biased, which means it mostly sends power to the rear wheels. BMW also made changes to the suspension, steering, and brakes to make the M4 CS handle better.
To make the car lighter, BMW used carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic for many parts, including the roof, hood, front splitter, and seats. The exhaust system is made of titanium, which also helps reduce weight. The M4 CS is 77 pounds lighter than the M4 Competition.
The M4 CS will come in two colors: Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green Metallic. It has red accents, carbon-fiber trim, and a unique grille and lighting. The starting price for the M4 CS will be $124,675, and it will be available starting in July.
