Months after Mini Cooper introduced the new 2 Door model, they’ve now revealed the 4 Door version, dropping the ‘Hardtop’ from its name. This new model is more practical and offers more space inside. At its launch, it will come with two gasoline engines in Europe. The base model, called the Cooper C, has a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that makes 156 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. This is quite respectable for a car of its size.

The Cooper C can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in eight seconds and reach a top speed of 134 mph. If you’re looking for more power, the Cooper S has a stronger engine with 204 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0 to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 150 mph. It’s important to note that the 2 Door version is slightly faster in both models. Mini has also hinted at an all-electric 4 Door version in the future.

Mini has focused on making sure the Cooper 4 Door handles well. They’ve adjusted the suspension to be both dynamic and comfortable. The car uses preloaded anti-roll bar mounts on both axles, which help it handle corners smoothly and improve steering accuracy. Mini offers different wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches, with wider tires available on models with 17- or 18-inch wheels for better handling.

The 4 Door model isn’t as stylish as the 2 Door, but it’s not unattractive either. It has the signature round LED headlights, wraparound glass, and an octagonal front grille. The back has LED taillights inspired by the original Mini’s vertical clusters.

Like the 2 Door, the 4 Door comes in several trims. The Essential trim is basic with a minimalist exterior and Vibrant Silver exterior finishes. The Classic Trim adds a contrast roof (black or white) or a Multitone roof with a gradient finish. The Favored trim has elements finished in Vibrant Silver, and the JCW trim is sportier with bumpers and a rear diffuser.

The interior has more room than the 2 Door, with space for three passengers in the back. The car is longer and has a longer wheelbase compared to the 2 Door, which means more legroom and a larger trunk space of 9.7 cubic feet, expandable to 32.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Inside, the 4 Door’s cabin mirrors the 3 Door model with a minimalist design and a 9.4-inch OLED display on the dashboard. Toggle switches control the gear selector, audio volume, parking brake, and start/stop function. The interior comes in four trims: Essential, Classix, and JCW, each with unique upholstery and finishes.

Mini hasn’t announced the price or when the 4 Door will be available, but more details are expected later this year. Specifications and engine options may vary when the Mini Cooper 4 Door is launched in different markets.
