The 2025 BMW M2 has arrived, marking its significant update since its debut in 2023. This two-door M car boasts some notable enhancements.
Under the hood, the 2025 M2 now packs more punch thanks to its 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine. Power output has been increased to 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque for the six-speed manual transmission, a bump of 20 horsepower.
The eight-speed automatic version sees even more substantial gains, reaching 473 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, making it even more powerful and responsive. This translates into quicker acceleration times with both transmissions shaving off 0.1 seconds from their 0-60 mph sprints – 4.1 seconds for the manual and 3.9 seconds for the automatic. BMW has also refined the throttle response for faster acceleration.
Externally, the 2025 M2 introduces a wide array of new colors, including Java Green metallic, Voodoo Blue, Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect metallic, Twilight Purple Pearl Effect metallic, Sao Paulo Yellow, Vegas Red metallic, Portimao Blue metallic, and Skyscraper Grey metallic. The wheels now offer a new bright silver finish alongside the existing black and bi-color options. The badging has been updated to black with a silver border, and the exhaust tips now come standard in black.
Inside, the 2025 M2 features a new flat-bottom steering wheel design available in leather or Alcantara, both optionally heated. There’s also a new Black Vernasca leather seat option with red highlights, while the M Carbon bucket seats remain available as part of the Carbon Package or as a standalone option. The center console has been subtly updated with new air vent adjustment controls, and M Fine Brushed Aluminum is now the standard trim.
In terms of technology, the 2025 M2 upgrades to iDrive 8.5 from iDrive 8, offering improved usability. A highlight is the new Live Cockpit Professional with augmented reality for navigation, projecting animated arrows onto the road using a camera feed.
With these upgrades, the base price of the 2025 M2 starts at $66,075, including the destination charge, which is $1,880 more than its 2024 counterpart. Despite the price increase, the added performance and equipment enhancements make it a compelling option. BMW plans to launch the updated M2 in August this year.
