Earlier this year, Toyota released a BX4X electric SUV on the market. It is made by GAC Toyota, which uses an electric motor provided by GAC. Now Toyota is introducing a Toyota BZ sedan EV called Toyota BZ3. Toyota BZ3 is the production version of the 2021 BZ SDN concept car.

BZ3 Design
On August 25, 2022, Toyota BZ3 images appeared and were published by the Chinese ministry for industry and information technology (MIIT). MIIT revealed the final design of the Toyota BZ design, confirming the Toyota BZ3 nameplate.
There was a little change in design; the exterior of the EV is nearly identical to the Toyota BZ SDN concept. The car features a low curvy bonnet with muscles on the flanks, intake on the chin, and L-shaped headlamps—the corner side of the bumper feature an imprint along with horizontal lines.
From the sides, its wheels are smaller, 18 inches per unit, but its design is similar to the concept. The base model will have smaller, 16-inch wheels and standard headlamps. There will be bold sculpting on the door panels, long and curvy greenhouse with a large triangular quarter glass and a smoothly sloping roofline.
At the rear, a full-width tail lamp extends to the car’s shoulder, and on the top, the car features a regular-sized sunroof. The top-end model features multi- LED projector headlights and a sunroof.
BZ3 Specification
The Toyota BZ3 measure 4725mm long, 1835mm wide, and 1475mm tall, with a 2880mm wheelbase slightly longer than the Tesla model 3. The car will be available with two powertrain options: 135 kW (181 hp) and 180 kW (241 hp). Its top speed is limited to 160 km/h on both versions.
Under the skin, it is expected to feature blade lithium iron phosphate batteries manufactured by Chinese company BYD, but the size of the battery is yet to be unknown. The batteries are slimmer than conventional batteries and free up more cabin space, marketed as “ultra-safe.”
Price and Release Date
Reuters reported that Toyota BZ3 would break cover at the 2022 Beijing auto show. The event was scheduled for 21-30 April 2022, but the event has been postponed because of the Covid 19 cases in China. The dates of the show have not been announced yet. Toyota could unveil the car at the company car event, the car will enter the showroom in 2022, and according to a Chinese source, the car may cost under CNY 200,000 (~USD 29,000) for the base variant.
