This was asked due to the fact that Ford has the F-150 Lightning Electric, which in itself is very impressive. This question was raised during an interview with Jim Cramer, who is a reporter for CNBC, on Tuesday, where the CEO said that Tesla’s truck couldn’t pose a threat to Ford. In that interview, he (the owner of Ford) said that Amarica loves the underdog and that they are the market leader for EV trucks and vans.
He further added that the Cybertruck is aimed at Silicon Valley people. On top of all this, he added that they didn’t make trucks like that and said, “I make trucks for real people who do real work, and that’s a different kind of truck.”
Ford vs. Tesla: Who Has Better Trucks?
For those who don’t know, Cybertruck is the first electric pickup truck from Tesla, and on the other hand, Ford is one of the handfuls of automakers that produces EV pickup trucks. Ford has definitely been leading this race, as it was revealed that Ford delivered over 13,000 electric F-150 trucks. Furthermore, the company has increased production in order to fulfill 200,000 reservations.
In the US, the EV market is very lucrative, and Tesla wants to capitalize on that. After these comments, there haven’t been any responses from Tesla. The competition for this space has been going on for a very long time because the price of the Cybertruck is $50,000, which is $10,000 more than the 2023 F-150 Lightning.
The Cybertruck will be released later this year, which was confirmed during Tesla’s quarterly earnings call in April. But there has been a lot of buzz for it (Cybertruck) for all the wrong reasons, as it was leaked that it has some issues with suspension, handling, and braking.
