Mercedes is making some huge changes to their two beloved SUVs in the company’s catalog. These two SUVs that we are talking about are AMG GLC43 And GLC63 S Coupes, both of which are well-reputed vehicles in their own right.
The previous models of these SUVs have been very well received by all the people, and fans couldn’t be any happier with them.
The power that was seen in the previous engine is no joke, as it delivered some of the best performance seen in the SUV’s life cycle. But this was the exact opposite of what Mercedes thought about this because these two SUV models were discontinued by Mercedes.
It was a very unexpected thing indeed that many people didn’t expect from the company as these were some of the best SUVs of the company.
The reason behind the discontinuation was still unknown, but it could be that they weren’t selling that well, or it could be that they wanted to take a break and make some changes to these SUVs so that they have more appeal.
This will generate hype and bring in some more people that will catch their eyes. This is somewhat true, as they did make their return with a new engine that was performance-rich and powerful.
Both The SUVs Are Getting New Engine That Is Very Powerful
Now, Mercedes has taken the initiative of changing the engine of this SUV with a new one. It now comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which is called by the company as M139.
This new engine is able to generate a total of 416 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque in the GLC43. Furthermore, to further increase the power and performance, it is paired with the good old 48-volt hybrid system that is in almost all of the Mercedes models.
What this does is that it starts the compressor and turbine wheels before the exhaust gases arrive, which helps it eliminate turbo lag. On the other hand, the GLC63 has the same engine, but it will be fitted with a larger turbocharger, which means that it can generate an extra 53 horsepower.
There is also the rare mounted 201-hp electric motor that comes with a two-speed transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. When these two are combined, it can generate a total of 671 horsepower, which is way more than the previous engine.
Both The Engines Delivery Impressive Performance And Power
Both SUVs have a 9-speed automatic with a clutch pack in place of the torque converter. With all of these things combined, the GLC43 is capable of going from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds, and the GLC63 S can go from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds.
All these things are revealed by the company, which shows signs of great improvement as well as the tremendous potential for SUVs. Both of them haven’t really been tested by the reviewers, and all of this information is provided by the company themselves.
Hopefully, the people will be able to put it to the test and see how true these specifications are. As the release draws near, more and more details, as well as the release, will be revealed by Mercedes.
The main focus will be the release date as to when it will be reaching the Mercedes dealership. It will be a very interesting thing to witness where it will stand in this competitive division.
