In pursuit of a bit more power, Hennessey, the renowned automotive tuner and manufacturer, presents its latest creation originating from the Sealy, Texas headquarters—a modified version of the Cadillac Escalade-V known as the H1000, boasting an impressive 1005 horsepower. This four-digit power figure significantly surpasses the already substantial stock output of the luxurious SUV.
The standard Cadillac Escalade-V is no slouch, featuring a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 with 682 horsepower, closely linked to the 668-horsepower supercharged V-8 found in the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.
Our testing of the stock Escalade-V, weighing in at 6290 pounds, demonstrated a 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.3 seconds. With the Hennessey-modified H1000 boasting a substantial increase in power and 882 pound-feet of torque, it is poised to deliver even swifter performance.
Hennessey achieves this horsepower boost by implementing modifications to the V’s engine, including a custom camshaft, ported cylinder heads, and upgrades to components such as valve springs, retainers, lifters, and push rods.
The V-8 also undergoes enhancements to its fuel and intake systems, along with the inclusion of catalytic converters that facilitate higher air-flow rates. Anticipate an even more pronounced engine roar compared to the factory-built Escalade-V, which registered an interior noise level of 85 decibels during our testing.
Concerns about the modified Cadillac’s reliability are met with reassurance, as Hennessey provides a limited warranty lasting three years or 36,000 miles. However, the substantial cost of the H1000 may pose a more considerable consideration, likely exceeding the starting price of a new Cadillac Escalade-V, currently listed at $154,290.
