Consider the 2024 Genesis Electrified G80 if you’re in the market for a spacious and luxurious electric sedan. This model has become even more accessible than its predecessor, thanks to the introduction of the entry-level Advanced model starting at $75,570. This represents a substantial $5,380 savings compared to the 2023 version’s base price.
Previously limited to the Prestige trim, the Electrified G80 has undergone changes and is now positioned as the top-of-the-line model with a reduced starting price of $80,320 for the 2024 model year. This marks a noteworthy $630 decrease from the previous year, a departure from the industry norm of year-over-year price increases of around $1,000 or more.
Surprisingly, the 2024 Genesis GV60 has also experienced a significant price drop, particularly with the introduction of a rear-wheel drive configuration. This suggests a strategic approach by Genesis to competitively price its lineup against rivals, opting for price reductions instead of increases.
It’s worth noting that, being an electric car with an MSRP exceeding $55,000, the EV G80 does not qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit under the Inflation Reduction Act, a rule that also applies to competitors like the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan.
Although information on the new Electrified G80 Advanced, including standard features and optional extras, has not been released by Genesis, expectations are that it will share a 365-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain with the Prestige model.
The EPA estimates a consistent 282-mile driving range on a full charge for the 2024 EV G80, mirroring the previous year’s performance. The expanded lineup is expected to hit select state markets soon.
