The beloved Ram 1500 Classic is making a comeback for the 2024 model year, so don’t start saying your goodbyes just yet. This iconic pickup truck, which first debuted in 2009 as part of the DS-generation, is here to stay for a little while longer.

The refreshed Classic will be offered in two trim levels and comes with a slightly higher starting price compared to the 2023 model. The more affordable Tradesman now starts at $40,700, while the Warlock has a starting price of $45,430. This represents a significant increase of $6,460 from the $34,240 starting price of the 2023 1500 Classic. However, it’s worth noting that the new-generation 2024 model only offers a modest $415 in savings compared to its predecessor.

Under the hood, you’ll find the familiar 3.6-liter V-6 and 5.7-liter V-8 engine options, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Inside the truck, you’ll be greeted by a modest 7.0-inch touchscreen, which is a far cry from the advanced 12.0-inch center touchscreen found in the newer Ram models. However, for those who appreciate a more traditional approach, the Classic’s cabin is filled with physical buttons and knobs.

It seems that the upcoming release of the facelifted 2025 Ram 1500 might mark the end of the road for the 1500 Classic. While bidding farewell to this classic pickup may bring a tinge of sadness, the diminishing price difference compared to the newer-generation truck might help soften the blow.
