Trackhouse Racing, a well-known team in the NASCAR Cup Series, proudly presents its full-time driver lineup featuring Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez. In the previous season, the team made significant additions by securing the talents of Supercars ace Shane van Gisbergen and the 2022 NASCAR Truck Series champion Zane Smith.
The most recent addition to the Trackhouse Racing roster is the talented 17-year-old Connor Zilisch, who has signed a multi-year development deal with the team. This comprehensive agreement encompasses participation in NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series races, as well as appearances in the CARS Tour, ARCA, Trans-Am, and IMSA throughout the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Justin Marks, the founder and owner of Trackhouse, expressed his enthusiasm for Zilisch, highlighting the young driver’s impressive journey from kart racing at the Trackhouse Motorplex to securing victory in the Trans-Am race at Virginia International Raceway. Marks underscored the team’s commitment to nurturing Zilisch’s talent gradually, ensuring his preparedness for a promising and enduring racing career.
Zilisch’s racing pedigree includes being the MX-5 Cup championship runner-up in 2022, where he also claimed Rookie of the Year honors. In the following year, he achieved success with four wins in ten starts and made his ARCA debut at Watkins Glen International, finishing second after leading 34 of 42 laps.
Continuing his winning streak in the Trans-Am TA2 events, Zilisch secured victories in five out of the 13 races entered in collaboration with Silver Hare Racing. Notably, he made history in the Trans-Am Series by becoming the youngest driver to win a TA race in his debut and the first to claim victories in two different classes in a single weekend.
Zilisch’s journey with Trackhouse Racing extends to competing in the IMSA Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, driving an LMP2 entry for Era Motorsport alongside co-drivers Ryan Dalziel, Christian Rasmussen, and Dwight Merriman.
Expressing his gratitude, Zilisch remarked, “This is a dream come true. I can’t thank Justin [Marks] and everyone at Trackhouse Racing enough for giving me this opportunity. It has been a pleasure to spend the last two years racing with Chevrolet, and I am thrilled to extend that relationship. I have a lot to learn, but I don’t think there is a better place for me to learn than with Trackhouse Racing.”
Established ahead of the 2021 NASCAR season, Trackhouse Racing has achieved success with six Cup race victories, including four with Chastain, one with Suarez, and one with van Gisbergen. Their impressive performance led them to finish as the NASCAR Cup Series championship runner-up in 2022 with Chastain. As part of their continuous expansion, Trackhouse Racing has also ventured into MotoGP as Aprilia’s satellite team, succeeding the defunct RNF squad.
