The 24-year-old driver has officially joined the roster of Competizioni GT drivers for the Italian manufacturer, based on his notable achievements in its one-make challenge series and GT World Challenge Europe.
In 2022, Neubauer clinched the overall title in the Ferrari Challenge world finals at Imola. Additionally, he secured victory in the support race for the 488 Challenge Evo at the Le Mans 24 Hours, a part of the European series, in the previous year.
Neubauer’s accomplishments also extend to his Silver Cup championship in the 2019 GTWCE Sprint Cup, where he drove a Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the Auto Sport Promotion team. Furthermore, he claimed the same class victory in the Endurance Cup leg of the series, driving a WRT-run Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II in 2022.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Ferrari sportscar racing boss Antonello Coletta stated, “We are pleased to welcome Thomas to our family, a driver who has had the opportunity to claim some important triumphs and achievements both in the Ferrari Challenge and in endurance racing.”
Neubauer, in response to joining Ferrari, said, “Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to get to know the Ferrari universe from the inside by participating in the single-marque championship. Many of my best memories from the last few seasons are linked to the Ferrari Challenge…”
Describing the association as an “honor and a responsibility,” Neubauer looks forward to contributing to Ferrari’s ambitious goals as he becomes an official driver.
The announcement noted that Neubauer’s 2024 program with Ferrari will be disclosed at a later date. His motorsport journey began in 2016, racing a Formula Renault chassis in the VdeV Challenge Monoplace series. He then progressed through the FRenault Eurocup in 2017-18 with Tech 1 Racing.
Having competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2021 and 2023 with the JMW team, Neubauer switched to sportscar racing in 2019 with simultaneous participation in the GTWCE Sprint Cup and Ferrari Challenge Europe.
Joining Yifei Ye as a recent addition to the factory Ferrari drivers, Neubauer becomes part of a distinguished lineup that includes James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi, and others. Ferrari now boasts 12 front-line factory drivers, showcasing its commitment to excellence in motorsports.
