BMW Motorrad concludes its 100th anniversary celebration with the most successful sales performance in the company’s history. In the milestone year, BMW Motorrad achieved a record-breaking sales figure of 209,257 motorcycles and scooters delivered to customers, marking a 3.1% increase compared to the previous year.

This notable accomplishment is attributed to strong sales in key regions such as Europe, Asia, and Latin America, with Germany and North America also contributing significantly to the unprecedented sales volume. The strategic release of popular new models like the high-powered BMW M 1000 R and the touring enduro icon BMW R 1300 GS further bolstered the brand’s success in 2023.

Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad, expressed gratitude to customers worldwide for their continued trust, emphasizing that BMW Motorrad remains the global leader in the premium motorcycle and scooter segment. Flasch highlighted the brand’s success, anchored in innovation, a compelling product range, and a robust brand, positioning BMW Motorrad favorably for the upcoming year.

In terms of regional performance, Europe emerged as the dominant sales region, with a total of 116,012 motorcycles and scooters sold, reflecting a 4.7% increase. Notably, Eastern Europe experienced an outstanding record growth of 105.4%, contributing significantly to the overall European success. Key individual markets within Europe included Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, each showing positive growth.

Beyond Europe, China, India, Brazil, and Mexico played pivotal roles in BMW Motorrad’s global success story. Asia witnessed overall growth, with China and India achieving their best results to date. Brazil and Mexico also contributed significantly to the brand’s record-breaking results.

The success of BMW Motorrad can be attributed to the strong performance of flagship models such as the R 1250 GS and GS Adventure, along with the newly introduced R 1300 GS. These models, along with the enduring popularity of the boxer models, collectively contributed to the record sales volume.

The sporty four-cylinder models, led by the S 1000 RR and the M 1000 R hyperroadster, showcased impressive sales figures, underscoring BMW Motorrad’s leadership in the supersport bike segment.

Furthermore, the mid-range segment and the BMW Motorrad segment of up to 500 cc, represented by the F series and G models, respectively, made significant contributions to the overall success. The F 750 GS, in particular, stood out with a notable increase in sales.

The CE 04, securing a market share of around 70% in the global market for all-electric motorcycles and scooters, played a crucial role in BMW Motorrad’s achievements. The Urban Mobility range, featuring models like the C 400 GT and C 400 X, also contributed to the brand’s success.

Looking ahead to 2024, BMW Motorrad’s leadership is optimistic.
