The Ferrari 488, among the twenty-three vehicles seized from a criminal gang, has commenced its patrol duties with the Turkish Police. Joining the ranks of law enforcement, other high-performance vehicles such as the Audi RS6, Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari F8, Porsche Taycan, and Volkswagen Golf R have also been equipped for police responsibilities.
Luxury SUVs, including the Volvo XC90, Range Rover Sport, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS, have been added to the fleet of new patrol vehicles. Last month, a seven-figure Ferrari 488 sports car initiated its patrol duties with the Istanbul Traffic Police, actively patrolling tourist areas to ensure the presence of law enforcement for assistance.
In November, a total of 23 luxury vehicles were confiscated from criminal organizations across the country and repurposed by the Traffic Police for patrol duties on the streets of Istanbul.
On December 26th, ahead of the commencement of patrol duties, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, along with Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and Istanbul Police Chief Zafer Aktaş, inspected the seized vehicles at Atatürk Airport.
A video posted by Ali Yerlikaya on X (formerly Twitter) showcases some of the seized luxury cars, including the Ferrari 488, Audi RS6, Bentley Continental GT, and Ferrari F8, all of which have been adapted for police duties.
Yerlikaya expressed gratitude, stating, “These vehicles were given to our police by court decision. From now on, the vehicles will be at the disposal of our police and in the service of our nation, not criminal organizations.”
He further acknowledged the dedication of the police force, saying, “I would like to thank each and every one of our heroic police officers who work hard for the peace of our country. May our unity, solidarity, and peace be perpetual.”
The array of new Turkish police patrol vehicles also includes notable models such as the Porsche Taycan and the Volkswagen Golf R, enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement on the streets.
