Do you remember when Aston Martin unveiled the new Vantage at the 24 Hours of Daytona? They surprised everyone by sending out the new Vantage GT3 on the track without any warning. Now, the official debut has happened.
Aston Martin has shared lots of information about both the new road version of the Vantage and the race car. The Vantage GT3 is a regular Vantage that has been changed a lot to race in endurance events. It has a roll cage, carbon fiber body panels, and other tweaks to make it good for the track.
All GT3 cars start as normal cars, just like the new Vantage. They all have similar performances, even though they’re a bit different. Aston Martin’s GT3 version shares the same basic engine as the regular Vantage but with less power, as required by the rules. Also, all GT3 cars have to weigh between 1,200kg and 1,300kg.
Aston Martin thinks the new Vantage GT3 will be popular with racing teams. By the end of 2024, they hope to have 30 of these cars racing around the world. They fixed some problems from the old version, making the new one easier to handle, according to feedback from drivers.
If you want to see the Vantage GT3 in action, you’re in luck! It’ll race in various championships, like the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the European Le Mans Series, and the Nürburgring Langstrecken Series.
