A recent post on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum has caused a stir among customers waiting for their Tesla Cybertrucks. The post talks about a new program that lets people get their trucks faster by using referral credits. These credits are like rewards for getting someone else to buy a Tesla.
The program lets customers who already ordered the priciest Cybertrucks, called the Foundation Series and Cyberbeast, get their trucks within 45 days by using $30,000 in referral credits.
Normally, these trucks would take years to arrive. People who ordered the Foundation Series were promised priority, but now it seems like anyone with enough referral credits can jump ahead.
The Foundation Series costs a lot, around $120,000, and is super powerful, with 845 horsepower and crazy fast acceleration. But even though customers paid more for priority, they might have to wait longer because of this new program.
People on the forum are not happy about it. They feel it’s unfair for those who paid more to have to wait longer while others can skip the line by using referral credits.
Some are worried they won’t get their trucks until 2025 because of this. Tesla hasn’t said exactly how many people can use this program, but they might add more spots if enough people miss out.
