Introduced at dealerships nationwide in late summer, the 2024 Ford Mustang S650, the seventh-generation model, has captivated Blue Oval enthusiasts and helped the S550 reclaim its throne in the sports car realm by the end of 2023.

It comes in familiar forms – the fastback coupe and Convertible starting at $30,920, but opting for those entails settling for the 315-horsepower EcoBoost with its turbocharged four cylinders.

For those craving a V8 rumble or the open-air driving experience, the price starts at a minimum of $39,000 for an EcoBoost Convertible or nearly $42,000 for a GT Fastback. Prices escalate from there, with the highest-priced Convertible being the GT Premium at nearly $52,000, and the Dark Horse Premium commanding a hefty $63,480.

Admittedly, it’s a significant investment – but Ford recognizes the lack of competition now that production has ceased for the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro and the L-bodied Dodge Charger and Challenger as of December 2023.

Some might argue that only the Dark Horse variant can truly unleash the full potential of the Mustang without venturing into supercar territory with the GTD. However, certain aftermarket outlets challenge this notion, suggesting that even the Mustang GT can deliver an exhilarating experience.

Lethal Performance recently demonstrated this perspective by revealing their modifications to a seemingly innocuous light-blue 2024 Ford Mustang GT, boasting 486 horsepower courtesy of a 3.0-liter Gen 6 Whipple supercharger, pushing the total output to over 808 rear-wheel horsepower.

Admittedly, this achievement came with a disclaimer: the modifications included different pulley sizes, headers, and an octane booster added to the 93-octane fuel.

Nonetheless, it’s an impressive feat, and enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the reliability of such enhancements, envisioning these modified Mustangs tearing up the local quarter-mile dragstrip.

En route to the dragstrip, the Whipple x Lethal Performance 2024 Ford Mustang GT is bound to make an indelible impression on audiophiles as well.

The team recently added a complete Corsa Performance treatment, with the existing double HH pipe now connected to the Corsa Performance Xtreme Cat-Back Exhaust, courtesy of RSA Race Solutions in Boynton Beach, Florida.
