Tesla’s guidelines specify that the water depth should not exceed 31 inches, and caution users to proceed at their own risk. Despite this capability, the Cybertruck’s design does not suggest true floating capability.
Comparatively, BYD’s YangWang U8 SUV offers a “floating mode” allowing it to remain buoyant for 30 minutes. The Cybertruck’s experiences in water have showcased its limitations, with reports of minor issues such as rattling sounds and malfunctioning buttons following immersion.
While the Cybertruck may not possess true floating capabilities at present, future updates via OTA (Over-The-Air) may enhance its water traversal abilities.
