INEOS Reveals G-Class-inspired Fusilier, An All-electric 4X4 With Gas-powered Range-extender Option

INEOS Automotive has introduced the Fusilier SUV, drawing inspiration from the iconic G-Class and blending rugged design with eco-conscious innovation. This all-electric 4X4 offers a unique twist, featuring a gas-powered range-extender option to cater to diverse consumer preferences.

Developed in collaboration with Magna Steyr, renowned for crafting automobiles like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the BMW Z4, the Fusilier boasts formidable off-road capabilities while embracing sustainable mobility solutions.

The range-extender variant integrates a compact petrol engine driving a generator, ensuring the battery remains charged even when external charging options are limited. This hybrid approach enhances the vehicle’s versatility, catering to a wide spectrum of driving scenarios.

Available in the Nigerian Automotive market, courtesy of the partnership between Coscharis Motors and INEOS, the Fusilier marks a significant addition to the British marque’s lineup.

It joins the ranks of the Grenadier SUV and the closely related Quartermaster pickup truck, embodying INEOS Automotive’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.

Based on the off-road-ready Ineos Grenadier SUV platform, the Fusilier retains its rugged DNA while exhibiting a slightly more compact form factor. This maneuverable design ensures agile performance both on and off the beaten path without compromising on-road dynamics.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS, expressed enthusiasm for the Fusilier’s launch, emphasizing its appealing aesthetics and dual powertrain options. He highlighted the vehicle’s ability to significantly reduce carbon emissions while maintaining exceptional off-road prowess and on-road performance.

Ineos aims to address the inherent limitations of pure battery-electric vehicles by offering the range-extender electric variant, providing customers with a compelling alternative that mitigates range anxiety.

This strategic move underscores the brand’s commitment to delivering sustainable mobility solutions without compromising utility or driving experience.

While pricing details are yet to be announced, the all-electric Fusilier is poised to make a significant impact in the Nigerian Automotive market, further solidifying INEOS Automotive’s foothold in the global automotive landscape.
