Hyundai Ioniq 7 Three Row Electric SUV To Debut In The Summer

After tantalizing enthusiasts with concept cars and sneak peeks, Hyundai’s highly anticipated electric SUV is finally materializing into reality.

This isn’t merely another addition to the growing electric vehicle market; the Ioniq 7 marks Hyundai’s debut into the realm of three-row all-electric SUVs, signaling a bold step towards family-oriented transportation with its distinct design and state-of-the-art technology.

Renowned for its unconventional and attention-grabbing aesthetics, Hyundai’s Ioniq line has carved a niche by blending retro-chic elements with futuristic undertones.

The Ioniq 7 appears poised to uphold this legacy, refining the captivating features of the “Seven” concept car, such as pixel lighting, a sleek roofline, and an exceptionally roomy interior, into a vehicle destined for everyday driveways.

While some of the more extravagant features showcased in the concept, like swiveling seats and an abundance of screens, may not make it to the final production model, consumers can anticipate a strong focus on futuristic luxury within the cabin.

Hyundai has officially announced that the production-ready Ioniq 7 will make its debut on June 27th at the forthcoming Busan Motor Show in South Korea. Positioned on the same E-GMP platform as Hyundai’s successful Ioniq 5 and its counterpart, the Kia EV9, the Ioniq 7 promises a spacious three-row layout.

While specific details regarding the powertrain remain undisclosed, it is anticipated to offer various battery capacities, ranging from 75 kWh to 100 kWh, and both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations.

Building upon the lightning-fast DC charging capabilities seen in its EV9 sibling, the Ioniq 7 is likely to boast rapid charging capabilities, potentially enabling drivers to add hundreds of miles of range in less than 30 minutes.

Hyundai is making significant investments in electric vehicles, evidenced by the forthcoming inauguration of a €5 billion manufacturing facility in Georgia later this year.

This facility is poised to play a pivotal role in the production of the Ioniq 7 from 2025 onwards, bolstering the supply of electric SUVs in the US market and potentially rendering them eligible for EV tax credits once more. Initial production is scheduled to commence this July in South Korea at Hyundai’s Asan plant.
