Polestar has commenced assembly of the Polestar 3, its electric crossover, at the Chengdu factory in China. Following the successful completion of the early production test series, assembly is scheduled to begin in South Carolina, USA, later this summer, marking the first Polestar model manufactured on two continents.
The CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, emphasizes the significance of this milestone, highlighting the company’s expansion plans and Polestar 3’s role in transitioning from a one- to a three-car company.
The Polestar 3, unveiled over a year ago, boasts a size comparable to premium mid-size crossovers, featuring the SPA2 platform shared with Volvo’s EX90.
It offers two versions, Long Range Dual Motor and Long Range Dual Motor with Performance Pack, both equipped with bi-motor powertrains and boasting impressive performance figures and a range suitable for long-distance driving.
