Over two years have passed since General Motors initiated production of the GMC Hummer EV. This model commenced assembly at the Michigan factory in November 2021, boasting an array of features and leveraging a renowned nameplate.
GM has notably excelled in the aesthetic department, with the vehicle paying homage to its iconic predecessors, albeit with a modern twist. The pickup measures over 216 inches (5.5+ meters) in length, while the SUV nearly reaches 197 inches (4,999 mm).
Available in various configurations, the SUV comes in 2X, 3X, and 3X Omega Edition trims. All variants feature 800-volt technology enabling charging of up to 300 kW.
Pricing starts at $98,845 for the 2X, $106,945 for the 3X and $130,300 for the 3X Omega Edition. The Pickup variant offers identical trims and pricing, except for the 3X Omega Edition, which costs an additional $10,000.
Apart from its eye-catching appearance, the Hummer EV has outstanding performance capabilities. With over 1,000 horsepower and an incredible 11,500 pound-foot (15,592 Nm) of torque, its top version can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (97 kph) in only three seconds.
The older Hummers were often featured in music videos, frequently receiving customization treatments from tuners, including flashy accents, oversized wheels, and enhanced interiors.
However, the new GMC Hummer EV hasn’t garnered the same attention from renowned tuners. Despite this, some aftermarket components, particularly wheels, are available for customization.
One such example is showcased in Kelsonik’s digital portfolio, where a modified GMC Hummer EV SUV features vibrant alterations, including new colors, larger wheels, and a lowered stance. While this may appeal to enthusiasts of flashy rides, it highlights the potential for more audacious customizations that could attract the attention of rappers.
