When envisioning a rugged overlanding vehicle capable of traversing challenging terrains, the luxurious BMW 7-Series likely doesn’t come to mind. However, an owner in Prague, Czech Republic, defied expectations by transforming an E65 into a Dakar-style off-road beast.
Originally a BMW 730d utilized in embassy service, this E65 underwent a remarkable metamorphosis at Solved Garage, shedding its sedan demeanor for a rugged appearance.
Adorned with a Rothmans racing livery and equipped with off-road enhancements like increased ride height, reinforced bodywork, and rally-inspired wheels, the E65 Overland is unrecognizable from its former self.
Mechanically, the transformation included a new gearbox, suspension upgrades, and engine enhancements, elevating its off-road capabilities. Despite retaining its original turbodiesel engine, the E65 received performance tweaks, including increased horsepower and a limited-slip differential for improved traction.
Dubbed the E65 Overland, this unconventional BMW embarked on a challenging journey beyond the Arctic Circle, showcasing its newfound capabilities and proving that even luxury sedans can conquer the toughest terrains.
