Alfa Romeo is set to electrify its lineup with the launch of the next-generation Stelvio SUV in 2025, followed by a new Giulia saloon in 2026, ultimately transitioning to an all-electric brand by 2027.
These models will mark a significant shift for Alfa Romeo, as they will be the first to utilize the STLA Large platform with 800V electricals, promising enhanced performance, especially in hot Quadrifoglio guise.
With the adoption of 800V electricals, the new Stelvio and Giulia are expected to deliver blazing acceleration, with 0-62mph times of around 2.0 seconds, significantly quicker than their V6-powered predecessors.
The use of 800V electricals also opens doors for faster charging rates, potentially rivaling the capabilities of top-tier electric vehicles like the Porsche Taycan, while also allowing for weight reduction through thinner wiring.
To maintain dynamic capabilities, active anti-roll bars and a terrain-detection system will be incorporated into the Stelvio and Giulia.
Furthermore, these models will introduce Stellantis’s new STLA Brain-computer architecture, promising advanced onboard technology and over-the-air updates for continuous refinement.
Despite technological advancements, Alfa Romeo remains committed to a driver-centric approach, preserving signature design elements like the ‘cannocchiale’ instrument binnacle while enhancing the infotainment system and head-up display to assist drivers without overwhelming them.
Both the Stelvio and Giulia will be produced alongside Maserati models at the Cassino plant, marking a new era for Alfa Romeo as it embraces electrification and technological innovation.
